Worksop: Step2it Dukeries
Walks are held every Thursday throughout the year starting from Kilton Forest Golf Club at 10.00 am. All walks are led by trained Volunteer Walk Leaders who carry First Aid Kits and Safety Whistles
|Walk name||Route options available||Length (hours)|
|Walk - Thursday Am|
Medium Walk - Thursday Am
Short Walk - Thursday Am
Entry level Walk - Thursday Am (please ring if interested)
Long Walk - Thursday Am
There are three levels of walks each week: a short walk of approximately 45 to 60 minutes; a medium walk of between approximately 60 and 90minutes and a long walk of approximately 90 minutes. In addition an "entry level" walk of approximately 10 to 30 minutes is available, please ring for details.
The walks usually take place on the footpaths, bridleways and some farm tracks to the east of the Golf Club, however we do have a few "away day" walks visiting different sites in the area.
Refreshments are available in the Club House after walks so that we can unwind and put the world to rights.
Regretfully dogs are not allowed on any of our walks except for Assistance Dogs.
Regular coach trips are arranged by some of our leaders, and we have an annual Christmas Lunch.
Some of our walkers have hidden Talents as shown below by Sheena Atkinson, our very own POET LAUREATE.
THURSDAY MOORNING REVELRY
Eileen & Roy bring the lists for quick leaders counsel
Then Barbara ticks and Malcolm announces
With Julian in charge with a joke and a song
BFG Dave his strides awfully long
Roger and Brian plod ahead surprisingly quick
Frans dulcet tones "watch out for dog sxxx!!
Barry hands swing "up one two quick march"
And while Keitha down to earth
Brother Pete gazes at stars
Val with the Elite walk gentle ,sedate pace
No matter to them they're not in a race
So each week they guide us,
Today entertain, and feed us
So let us all raise our mugs
to our glorious Leaders
