Kidderminster Stride and Stroll An organised group dedicated to improve the health and well being of its participants by walking safely, comfortably within a happy social atmosphere.(www.strideandstroll.org.uk) We organise a Thursday Health Walk 30 to 45 miins and 5 Saturday Fitness walks up to 2 hours weekly throughout the year so that all can take part. Led by trained volunteer Walk Leaders with no fees to pay. Arrive early to register and enjoy the experience, with one of the biggest groups in the Midlands. WALKING FOR HEALTH WALKS
These are supported by Ramblers and Mcmillan Cancer Support, under the National Walking for Health initiative. Our Health walks meet every Thursday at 11:00 am at one of 7 locations in and around Wyre Forest district. They are intended for everyone including those with on-going health problems. Many of our members start walking for 10 minutes at a speed they find comfortable, with the aim of eventually walking for 30 to 45 minutes on a regular basis. Why not come along and find how far you can walk when you are chatting to someone. An equally important part of the morning is the equivalent amount of time spent over a cup of tea or coffee afterwards. Walks are on level ground with good surfaces and often wheelchair friendly.
SATURDAY PROGRESSION WALKS
These are part of the Worcestershire Walking Network supported by Worcestershire County Council. They are at 10:30 am at locations mainly within a 10 mile radius of Kidderminster. If you can walk 3 miles across country and over stiles then you will manage our D group. For more able walkers the choice is up to 6 miles with the A group; up to 4.75 miles with the A/B group; up to 4.5 miles with the B group and up to 4 miles with the C group. All walks last about 2 hours. Be sure to choose carefully which group you want to go with, if unsure phone our mobile number for some helpfull advice. Stout footwear and suitable clothing are essential to suit the seasonal conditions.

Some of the walks can involve rough terrain with steep slopes. In inclement weather participants on these walks are asked to be aware of the following conditions.
Waterproofs should be worn and spare dry clothing should be carried in your rucksack.
Walking boots are recommended, or strong shoes in the summer.
Walk leaders will be entitled to refuse participants on a walk if the leader judges that the person concerned is not fit or adequately clothed or equipped or on health grounds, for the walk concerned.
Leaders retain the right to vary the walk if conditions so dictate.
Walkers safety is their own responsibility
Young people and vulnerable adults should be accompanied by a responsible adult/carer.
Dogs must be kept under control at all times, preferably on a lead. Dogs may not be allowed on open access land (Except on public rights of way).
