Slough Healthy Walks

About Us

Welcome to Slough’s Healthy Walks. Slough aims to help promote healthy walking and encourage more people (all ages, backgrounds and abilities) to get outdoors, get active and reap the health benefits.
They're great for meeting new friends, getting fit, and discovering new places to walk and see in Slough. Walking is a fantastic and effective way of being active, and it can be fitted into everyday life quite easily.

Walks can reduce stress, support you to lose weight, share laughs, make new friends and reduce isolation and loneliness. Slough health walks have something for everyone. All the walks are led by trained volunteers and are free to join. If you have any worries or concerns about joining a walk, please contact us.

We have a number of walks across different areas of Slough. The walks vary in distance and time and are often less then 3 miles, over easy terrain, accessible for everyone, will be no longer than 90 minutes and more often less than an hour and finally you will require no special equipment.

If you fancy an easy flat stroll through scenic and quiet parks then Salt Hill and Baylis are for you. If however, history is more your thing then why not come for a walk along the tow path of The Grand Union Canal, one of the last canals to be built in Britain. The Jubilee River is also a nice countryside walk and walkers often walk further into Windsor.

These walks are a fantastic way to improving your wellbeing and also an opportunity to meet other walkers and walk leaders across Slough and surrounding areas.

We would love to see you on one of our walks and to find out more about how you can become a walk leader of would like to participate then contact Slough's Active Communities Team for more details. The scheme is always looking for new routes, and is working with voluntary, community groups to discover Slough's hidden places.
