Oxford Health Walks

About Us

Do you enjoy getting outdoors, walking and meeting new people? Or are you considering starting some gentle exercise?

All walks are FREE to attend and are normally between 1-3 miles in length (30 - 60 minutes).

They are volunteer led and suitable for beginners or those returning to exercise as they are taken at a distance and pace suitable for everyone. Anyone is welcome regardless of age or ability, but we do ask that young children are accompanied by an adult and dogs are kept on a lead.

Please note that walks will not go ahead if there is severe rainfall, snow or ice.

Our Walks

Due to the COVID-19 crisis and the continually developing guidance on social distancing Oxford Health Walks are currently not operating as normal.  Our wonderful volunteer Health Walk Leaders are doing their very best to start their walks as soon as safely possible but this may not be viable immediately. For those walks which have re-started walker numbers are limited and a booking system may be in place. We are sorry for any disappointment this might cause but hope you understand that the health and wellbeing of our volunteer Walk Leaders as well as our walkers is of the upmost importance.

Should you have any questions or would like to find out more about a specific walk please do not hesitate to contact the Scheme Co-ordinator, Emma Collins at ecollins@oxford.gov.uk

The walkers will be split into groups of 5 persons plus a leader and will be required to complete a Track & Trace register (Name,Telephone number and Post code).
When the groups are formed they will set off for a walk around the park not allowing for any social interaction with other groups. Social distancing will be maintained at all times and as our usual coffee stop is no longer available the groups will be dispersed at the end.  However people may wish to bring their own coffee and take advantage of the park and its facilities understanding that the toilets are very limited.
All walkers must be able to walk independently without assistance from the Health Walk Leader.
