Adur Health Walks (in Shoreham-by-Sea, Southwick and Lancing)
The main walking for health scheme is called 'Adur Healthy Walkers' .
We have a number of great walks available. Our walks are separated into Level 1 and 2 Health walks, which are 30 minutes, 60 minutes or 90 minutes duration and Level 3 Friends walks which are more strenuous and over 2 hours duration. Some walks start from libraries where membership is encouraged and tea/coffee and biscuits is available after the walks for a small fee (currently 50p). Some other walks start or finish at cafes where refreshments are usually available.
Our walks cover varied terrain from flat walks around the town and seafront to more undulating terrain on the South Downs around the Adur district

The Adur District covers an area between the South Downs and the coast in West Sussex and lies between Worthing and Brighton and Hove. Towns in the district include Shoreham-by-Sea, Southwick, Lancing, Sompting and the smaller areas of Coombes, Fishersgate, Kingston by Sea (or Kingston Buci).
The northern part of the Adur District falls within the newly formed South Downs National Park and many of our walks are in this area of outstanding natural beauty. There are also three Local Nature Reserves (LNR) within the Adur District which include: Mill Hill LNR, Lancing Ring LNR and Shoreham Beach LNR.
The Adur District also includes other places of interest such as Shoreham Old Fort, Shoreham Tollbridge, Shoreham Port, Shoreham Airport, RSPB Wildfowl Reserve, Widewater Lagoon and the River Adur. There are also numerous old historic churches to visit.
All details for the programme are on the Healthy Walking page on the Adur District Council website - http://www.adur-worthing.gov.uk/sport-and-leisure/play-a-sport/walking
We run regular walks throughout the year and also have a range of special event walks as well.
