Skipton Craven Walkers
NOTE: All Monday and Dales Walks have been suspended duing the Covid-19 epidemic.
We are a volunteer-run scheme and we lead Walking for Health walks on Mondays (excluding Bank Holidays) at 2pm meeting at Freddie Trueman Statue, Canal Basin, Skipton off Coach Street Car Park. Monday walks are in Skipton and vary in length; most weeks there are 3 walks all within Skipton town - Starter (up to 30 mins), Stroller (up to 60 mins) and Legstretcher (up to 90 mins) walks. We also have some longer walks further afield on other days, details of these are given to Monday walkers.

Our free Walking for Health walks are on Mondays at 2pm from Freddie Truman statue at the Canal Basin (except Bank Hols and a few other dates e.g. AGM). We walk around Skipton town and many of our walkers go for a chat over a cuppa afterwards. Children are welcome on all our walks if accompanied by a responsible adult. Only assistance dogs are allowed. If you have not walked with us before you will need to fill in a WfH Questionnaire before you start, so please arrive in good time.
Our walks are every Monday at 2pm.
Stretchers (Grade 2, 50-90 mins, 2-3 miles) at a steady pace. Our main walk. Weekly.
Strollers (either Grade 1 or Grade 2, 30 mins - 50 mins depending on participants) for those with limited time or lower ability to walk. Some walks suitable for pushchair or wheelchair, please contact us in advance. Weekly.
Starters (Grade 1, 20-40 mins) at a slower pace for those with limited ability to walk. Some walks suitable for pushchair or wheelchair, please contact us in advance. Twice a month.
We mainly use walks from our booklet "24 Walks for Health in Skipton" supported by Craven District Council and published with grants from Skipton Rotary, Skipton Town Council and the Temperance Hall Fund. Sales of the booklet finance our group. Please contact us by phone or email for more details.
