Salford: Walking for All
Salford Community Leisure are helping and supporting people in Salford to improve thier health by becoming more physically active. We currently run 8 regular healthwalks upto an hour in length across the city.
Health walks are free local walks designed to help people become more physically active to improve their health. They offer a safe, relaxed and sociable environment in which to walk. The Health walks are designed to help you meet your 150 minutes of moderate intensity exercise each week.
Our aim is to help people who do little or no exercise or live in areas of poor health to reach the reccomended amount of moderate physical activity (150 minutes a week). Various walks across the city are already set up: country parks, urban, countryside, town parks.
Salford Community Leisure are looking at setting up new health walks across the city, as well as supporting existing ones by training new volunteers as health walk leaders.
