St Helens: Get Yourself Outdoors Walking

About Us

Here at the Healthy Living Team St Helens we pride ourselves on providing a range of walks to suit all abilities.

Our walking for health walks range between 1-4 miles. The walks graded one heart are suitable for those who are not used to regular exercise and then the two heart walks for those able to walk that bit further or longer. The three heart walks are not Walking for Health Walks but as your fitness improves you may wish to progress on to a longer more challenging walk.

No specialist equipment is required-just a sensible pair of shoes. Our short walks will help you to reach the thirty minutes minimum exercise that is recommended for adults each day. Many of our walks take place in the beautiful green spaces and parks in St Helens.

Walkers have less incidence of cancer, heart disease, stroke, diabetes and other killer diseases. They live longer and get mental health benefits.

If you do have a health condition or have not exercised for some time it may be worth speaking to your GP or Practice Nurse before starting any activity.

All our walks are led by friendly leaders many of who are volunteers. Why not take a look at our programme and choose a walk today?
