Rossendale: Active Together

About Us

Our officially trained, Walk Leaders and Volunteer Walk Leaders hold Enhanced DBS Disclosure certificates;  walk leaders are First Aid trained. All staff and volunteers are fully insured.

Staff and Volunteer Walk Leaders have attended training in: Identifying & Dealing Effectively People with Mental Health Issues and Dementia Awareness.

We offer a series of active options including walks(sessions of varying lengths), gentle exercise and sporting activities to appeal to a wide range of ages and individuals. Through promoting the fun and accessibility of these activities the project aims to reach those people who would not necessarily take part in regular exercise. People of all ages and abilities are encouraged to join us. The project also aims to increase the confidence of these participants so that they then feel motivated to continue exercising independently.

Exercise has proven results in improving both mental and physical problems. Depression is a major issue in deprived areas, taking people out walking can address these issues, making people not only feel better about themselves, but also appreciate their local area and promote a sense of pride in their town.
