Oldham: Lees Health Walks.

About Us

Tuesday mornings at 10.20 am. Three walks are available, one easy, an other walk is a little more challenging but not dificult, they both last for between 60-90minutes.

An extra walk for limited mobility walkers is also available (10 to 30 min walk).

Everyone is welcome on these "Walking for Health" friendly walks.

Walks are graded

Walk A Slightly brisker pace and more gradients than walk B

Suitable for most walkers

Walk B slightly slower than walk A and on the flat where possible

Suitable for walkers prefering a more leisurely pace

A short 30mins walk is offered on request for the less able walker.

Once a month "Out & About" walks take us to areas outside the local walks.

     LEES OUT AND ABOUT DAYS 2016.

12TH OF JANUARY 2016   PORTLAND BASIN...
The "A" walk will be longer than the B C walks. + Complimentary Tea & biscuits.

9TH FEBRUARY 2016    WELL-I-HOLE CIRCULARWALK. (Greenfield).
This is an A, B +C walk. The "A" walk will be again longer than the B & C walks.
All walks will start at the car park.+ Tea & coffee +biscuits @ Royal George

8TH OF MARCH 2016   STALEY WAY CIRCULAR WALK.
We will use the car park on Huddersfield road near to Mottram road.
This is again an A,B +C walk. All walks will leave and return to the car park.
TEA AND TOILETS AT TESCO,S in STALEYBRIDGE.

12TH APRIL 2016   Werneth Low
There is a car park at the Lower entrance near the cafe and the visitors centre.
for the “A” walkers,  the  B & C walks will start at the top car park.

10TH MAY 2016   ETHEROE COUNTRY PARK STOCKPORT.
This is an A, B & C walk. Both walks will leave & return to the car park.
The "A" walk can follow the route shown on the map.
There are toilets & a café at the visitors centre with complimentary tea & coffee.

14TH OF JUNE 2016.    Picnic@ DOVESTONES RESERVOIR.
Toilets and a picnic with complimentary picnic refreshments in the Boat house.

12TH OF JULY 2016  Full DAY TRIP  to ORDSALL  HALL + MEAL
Visit to the grade 1 listed building, built in 1210, re-opened in 2011 cost of £6 m

9TH AUGUST 2016  Chadwick Chapel
This is again an A, B & C walk. Café & toilets at the garden centre café.

13TH SEPTEMBER 2016   SUMMIT TO GORDON RIGGS
This is again an A,B & C walk, toilets and a café @ Gordon Riggs.

11TH OCTOBER 2016   VERNON PARK STOCKPORT.
An A,B & C walk. There are toilets and a café in the park with refreshments.

15 NOVEMBER 2016   DELPH DONKEY.
This is an A,B, walk. The "A" walkers can start from the Museum. While the rest of us can do the walk from the car park thus doing the walk in reverse.

13TH DECEMBER 2016,   XMAS MEAL (Venue to be decided.)
