The Walking for Health programme in North Lincolnshire started in 2003 and proving more successful than ever. Led walks are regularly being held around North Lincolnshire and are very popular. There are often between 30 and 60 people attending the walks, all of whom have a different reason to be there. Most of our walks are about 3 miles and they take place whatever the weather!

Many of the people who take part do so, not only to improve their health, but also to improve their social life! Its a great way to meet other people and make new friends.

Tuesday walks
One Tuesday morning walk is led by the Heart to Heart group and, although originally set up to rehabilitate individuals with heart problems, it is now open to the public and extremely well attended. These walks take place every other Tuesday.

The other Tuesday walk (Walk 4 All ) is open to everyone.

Wednesday Community walk

Starts 11am very Wednesday from Central Park car park , Kingsway, Scunthorpe , North Lincolnshire , this is a short 30 minute walk around the green park , this walk is also  suitable for Wheelchair users and users of Walking Aids,

Alternate Monday and Wednesday evening walks take place from May to August

Thursday walks
The Thursday morning walks take place all over the region and are popular with many walkers of all ages.

The Thursday afternoon walks aim to attract those people living in the centre of Scunthorpe without transport or who don't want to drive out to a walk. They are lovely walks which take you off the beaten track to places you may have forgotton or never knew existed.

Friday walks
On Friday mornings the walks are held at Normanby Hall Country Park and are an ideal starting point for new walkers and those not able to walk long distances. Here we are able to hold three walks for differing abilities, starting with short 30 minute walks and going to 3 miles , great for those unsure of their capabilities.

Short walks of  30 minutes up to 1 mile take place at Normanby Hall country park every friday at 10.30am, additional tuesday short 30 minute 1 mile walks take place for entry level walkers, please phone for detail 01724 297631

Joint walks with Ramblers ; these walks are approximately 5 miles and take approximately 2hr 30 min to complete, they take place once monthly on Mondays led jointly with the local Ramblers
