Lewisham Healthy Walks

About Us

Get some fresh air - being in nature makes us less stressed

Be more active - walking is a great way to improve your health and wellbeing

and   Make new friends and discover new places

Our free, friendly walk groups are led by trained volunteer leaders in parks across the borough. They take place each week except in extreme weather.

We are pleased that we can restart some of our walk groups and we look forward to welcoming you to join us.

As we are still dealing with the restrictions of COVID 19, some of walks may need to be limited in numbers - please see each walk page for details or contact Jenny Budd. We'll need to keep to social distancing at all times and please bring a face covering and hand sanitiser in case you need to use it.

If you haven't walked with us before, you will need to register on this site - you can 'join as a walker' with the blue button on this page or on the walk page. Then, please follow the links 'to create an account' and register. We encourage people to register online, but if you can't do so the walk leader will have a paper copy of the form, or you can ring Jenny Budd (scheme co-ordinator) and fill it in over the phone (you may need to leave a message to be phoned back). You only need to fill in the registration form once and can then attend any walk that is suitable for you.

Then everyone needs to sign in at the walk and leave contact details to conform to the need for Track and Tracing.

We are delighted to be back, enjoying our beautiful parks and each other's company - do join us!

If you are staying indoors, try and find other ways to keep active. There are lots of great ideas and links here:

Our Events

Enjoy walking? Want to get more involved? Why not join our team of volunteer walk leaders - you'll need to attend the Free one day training course where you'll get all the information you need.

If you decide to lead one of our regular walks you'll get support and advice from the scheme co-ordinator and other walk leaders.

Being a walk leader is great fun, you'll meet new people and get fit at the same time!

People of all abilities are able to become walk leaders and we would be interested in hearing from you if you are interested in checking routes for accessibilty.

Please get in touch to find out more and register for our next course
