Hertfordshire Health Walks

About Us

PLEASE NOTE: Due to Coronavirus all Hertfordshire Health Walks have been cancelled until further notice.

Hertfordshire Health Walks are free, led, local, health-focused walks happening across the county helping everyone get outdoors, get more active and reap the benefits. There are approximately 65 Hertfordshire Health Walks each week, with over 40,000 attendances annually and led by 300 volunteer Walk Leaders.

Since 2001 Hertfordshire Health Walks have been co-ordinated by Hertfordshire County Council's Countryside Management Service in partnership with many district councils and recently the county Public Health Department and the NHS.

The Countryside Management Service works with communities in Hertfordshire to help them care for and enjoy the environment. People can join the CMS to get involved in looking after their local countryside and green spaces for wildlife and improving facilities for people to get outdoors for recreation including walking.
