Grange-over-Sands Health Walks
The Grange Health Walks scheme is sponsored by Grange Medical Centre and started in May 2017. Weekly walks are held starting at 11am every Thursday (except Christmas Day) from the rear car park of the AGE UK Superstore opposite Grange Station. Walks are for all abilities and the main walk lasts for one hour. A 30 minute walk along the level is available for those wishing to start with more gentle exercise. The scheme is closely allied to the nearby Cartmel Surgery health Walk scheme, which has operated since 2010 every Tuesday at 11am. Walkers are welcome to attend both schemes' walks. See "Cartmel Health Walks" for more details of their activities.

Our walks start at 11am (please arrive for registration around 11.45am) at the rear car park of the AGE UK Grange Superstore. We are still developing our walks, which are through the town of Grange. Where possible, we avoid the main roads and use parkland. The extensive sea front Promenade is also usually included in walks. An easy 30 minute walk along the level is available. The main walk lasts about 1 hour and the distance covered depends on the ability of participants and the route of the day. The main walk may include some moderate gradients. The short walk is suitable for wheelchairs and pushchairs. Well behaved dogs are welcome, but will have to be kept on the lead for much of the walk.
