Our walk scheme has been amended, due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Please see the attached 'Guide for Walkers' for further details. In particular, pre-booking is essential.
The Wooler (Glendale) Walking Group is a well established friendly group who meet every week on Thursdays at 1.00 pm at the Cheviot Centre in Wooler. All walks are led by trained walk leaders and they usually include a visit to a cafe for refreshments afterwards. Each week we do a different walk. Details of walks, and walk dates are available from our programme available on scheme page.
As the countryside around Wooler is quite hilly, we use shared cars or a bus on some weeks to increase the variety of walks we can offer. Small voluntary contributions are requested towards the cost of this transport.
We walk on Thursdays, meeting at the Cheviot Centre, Padgepool Place in Wooler at 1.00 pm. Each week we do a different walk. Details of walks, and walk dates are available from our programme. (Viewed under the map.)
Most weeks we offer a choice of 2 walks - a short walk of under 2 miles and a longer walk of approximately 3 miles.
On the first Thursday of each month (weather permitting) we also offer a 'starter' walk. Additional starter walks will be provided on additional Thursdays, subject to demand.
New members always welcome!
Please note that only Assistance dogs will be allowed on the walks, by prior arrangement with the leaders.
