Gentle walks in the Furness area are designed to provide a weekly opportunity for groups of people to become more physically active. All walks have an option of a maximum walk time of 30 minutes for participants. Any walks extending beyond 90 minutes would be progression walks and are therefore not part of the Walking for Health programme. 

Walk length about 1.5 miles, time usually 50 minutes.Starting points are:

 Mondays: Tudor Square, Dalton-in-Furness at 10.30am. Open to all. Walk Leader Raymond Willcock.

Wednesdays: Walney Mill Lane Childrens Centre Cafe, 10.30am - Walney Shoreline Walks down to Earnse Point then South along the shore to Sandy Gap and Biggar Bank. Walk Leader - Richard Scott

Thursdays: Barrow Park walks - meet at the Park Leisure Centre Foyer,10:30am  - easy, 30-40 minute walk, some slopes with a maximum 30 minute option available. Walk Leader - Raymond Willock

Fridays 11.00am meet in Lakeland House, Abbey Road - walking from Abbey Road, we have three different route options depending upon the weather and those attending. Walks include the Town Centre Circular, Channelside & Barrow Park. Walk Leader - AgeUK Barrow

Trained leaders will meet you on arrival at the starting points. Please arrive about 5 minutes early on the first occasion.
