Cumbria Walking for Health

About Us

The Cumbria Walking for Health programme is supported by Active Cumbria, part of Cumbria County Council. Our aim is to enable and encourage as many people as possible to become more physically active through walking, to help improve their health and wellbeing.

All walks are led by volunteer Health Walk Leaders across the County, and provide a great opportunity not only to improve your health through regular walking but also to explore your local area whilst meeting new people. Walks aim to be suitable for people of all ages and abilities and our leaders will ensure that you walk at a pace that you find comfortable.

Walking is a great form of activity as it is a low cost, accessible and sociable way to become more active. Just a brisk 10 minute walk every day can make a real difference to your health. So come and join us !
