Better Walks Barnet
We are a new Walking for Health scheme and currently run two weekly walks from two leisure centres in the area. We encourage anyone who is looking to increase their physical activity levels and become more active.
Current Walking Sessions
Burnt Oak Leisure Centre - Every Tuesday - 10.30am - 11.30am - Walk Leaders: Billy/Zoltan
Copthall Leisure Centre - Every Saturday - 10.00am - 11.00am - Walk Leaders: Billy/Jason/Veena
*The walks at Copthall will be based around Copthall playing fields and Sunny Fields park
*Please note: If you are a complete beginner, Barnet Better walks will operate a shorter walk (30 minutes) on the first weekend of every month at Copthall Leisure Centre.
Pre Walks (Both Centres)
All Walkers attending the session will meet in the reception area - please sign in at the reception desk and you will also sign the register with the walk leader. It will also give you an opportunity to go to the toilet or fill up any water bottles.
New Walkers - please arrive 10-15 minutes prior to the walk to fill out the walking registration form that will be handed back to the walk leader once completed. The registration forms can be provided at reception on your arrival.
Introduction: The walk leader will cover health and safety points, conduct a verbal screening and make sure all walkers are dressed appropriately as we all know how the weather can change.
Medications: If you have any existing medical conditions that requires medication during the physical exertion please bring these to the walk (Examples: GTN spray, Asthma Pumps, Asprin)
If only one walker attends the scheduled walk then the walk will be cancelled.

Saturdays at 10am - 11am - meet at the reception of Copthall Leisure Centre, Champions Way, NW4 1PX. The walk will last for approx. 60 minutes.
