Volunteers' Week 2017
This Volunteers' Week, we want to say thank you to all of our volunteers!
We are incredibly proud of all our volunteers, who give up their time to support thousands of people to live healthier lives. Our volunteers not only help people get active, but they are also often friends, providing structure, conversation and companionship to people who need it. Our walkers often tell us that it's the social side of the walks that keeps them coming back, and volunteers are a huge part of this.
This year, we're delighted to say that Walking for Health volunteers walked away with not one, but two honours at the Ramblers Volunteer Awards. Click the images below to read their inspiring stories, and walk and talk interviews, over on the Ramblers website.
Our volunteers' stories:
Read about Gwenda's remarkable journey, and how she's giving something back to her local walking scheme through volunteering.
Meet Annelize, the amazing volunteer coordinator and award winner who manages the Guildford walking scheme.
Find out why Tracey, a walk leader in Greenwich, thinks volunteering is brilliant.
Our volunteer roles are active, social and rewarding. Whether you are looking for another way to keep fit and make friends, want to give something back to your local community or develop your skills for the workplace, we've got the right opportunity for you.
If you are interested, contact us, letting us know where you live and what kind of role you are looking for, and we'll send you some more information. You can also find out about the main volunteer roles here.
