Why volunteer?

Our health walks couldn't happen without our volunteers. People like you who spend their time helping us out with a whole range of different roles.

Our volunteers help others to discover walking and they're highly regarded by our walkers up and down the country.
I’d like to say a huge thank you to all the volunteer walk leaders for leading these fantastic walks. Walking for Health could not exist without them.
Jean Hooton, walker with Walking for Health.
As one of our volunteers, you can develop a range of new skills. You could discover how to be a great leader. Or find out more about marketing and promotion. Or you could enhance your database or communication skills. What a great way to diversify your CV and give something back to your local community.

As a volunteer, you'll get support and advice from your local scheme and the national Walking for Health team.
I went on the training and really enjoyed it. Before long, with Betty's support, I was not only leading my walk but helping out with others too!
Kath, walk leader with Walking for Health.
Have a look at our volunteering roles to find out more or use the search box on the right to find your local health walk schemes and talk to them about volunteering locally.
