Administration and promotion
A lot of work goes on 'behind the scenes' to help Walking for Health schemes run smoothly. This work is vital to making sure that we're monitoring the success of health walks. It's also needed to ensure that as many people as possible who would benefit from the walks get to hear about them.
Volunteering in an administrative role with your local Walking for Health scheme is a great way to gain new skills and add to your CV, whilst also helping this important service to be delivered effectively to as many people as possible.
There are lots of areas of work that need this kind of support, for example:
- Updating the database with the latest walk registers and registration forms
- Helping to produce marketing information for the scheme
- Producing correspondence
- Helping to manage the network of volunteer walk leaders
If you're interested in helping your local scheme with tasks like this and gaining some valuable office skills in the process, then use the box on the right of this page to search for your nearest schemes. They'll be able to let you know what types of roles they have available.
