Coronavirus - the latest Ramblers advice (24 June)

Following the reintroduction of individual volunteering activities earlier this month, we want to work with you to plan for the restart of small group walks. From Wednesday 1 July, small group walks can restart – subject to following the latest government guidelines. There are still significant restrictions which mean that we must take extra steps to ensure that walks are safe and responsible by:   

  • Limiting group size to a maximum of 6 people – 1 walk leader, plus 5 walkers. 
  • Following the latest guidelines on physical distancing and hygiene. 
  • Taking steps to assess and reduce the risks on group walks. 

What you need to do if your group wants to start small group walks 

Whilst small group walks can restart from Wednesday 1 July, there is no obligation to do so straight away. We know that COVID-19 has affected everyone in different ways. We will support each volunteer to make the right choice for them, based on their personal circumstances – and to plan together as a group.   If you do plan to restart small group walks, please visit our website for more information on the steps that you and other volunteers must take.
