Coronavirus - the latest Ramblers advice (29 May)

Published: 29th May 2020

We want to make sure you are up to speed with Government guidance and our position about COVID-19. We want you to feel ready and confident to help communicate changes with walkers and volunteers, so it is important you have the latest information.

In the last 24 hours, changes to guidance have been announced in England, Wales and Scotland. Significantly, in England government has announced its intention to increase the number of people who can meet up outdoors. However official guidance on the detail is yet to be published.

Importantly, whilst we appreciate these announcements and easing of lockdown could be seen as a green light for some activity to restart, we must reiterate that for now Ramblers Walking for Health group walks and activities remain suspended until further notice.

We continue to review our guidance daily and will publish all updates on the Ramblers website - https://www.ramblers.org.uk/coronavirus.aspx

If you have any immediate questions or concerns, please do get in touch via email - walkingforhealth@ramblers.org.uk

On a different matter, next week is National Volunteers Week (1-7 June) which is celebrated across the UK. Ramblers Walking for Health thrives because of the skills of many volunteer walk leaders – thank you for all that you have done, and all that you will do.

Happy Volunteers Week and thank you!

Best wishes
