September Newsletter - Cascade Training Dates

Published: 13th September 2019

Thank you so much to everyone who has been in touch the last few months and to those of you who completed the Training Survey the other month. We have been working to compile all of that feedback to inform the changes to the Walk Leader training. We are also pleased to share that we have announced new cascade training dates, you can see more about them below.

Cascade Training Dates Available

Thank you to everyone for your patience while the team have prepared the Cascade Training. We are pleased to offer the following dates and locations for training:

September

OctoberNovemberThis training is for anyone interested in becoming a Ramblers Walking for Health Cascade Trainer. This is a volunteer role that delivers Walk Leader Training for schemes.

Are we not coming to your area or, you can't make a date? Please get in touch with us stating your location and preferred day for training.

Walk leader training: What you said

We used your feedback to determine what changes should be made to the Walk Leader training. Thank you so much to everyone who fed into our consultation last month, everyone offered us honest and valuable feedback that has been essential in this process. Read more about the feedback that led to these changes on our website.

Have your say

There is still time to have your say on Ramblers Walking for Health through our scheme survey. The survey is a series of questions that seeks to take the most accurate picture of Ramblers Walking for Health as possible. This insight will help Ramblers Walking for Health better position itself nationally which is particularly pertinent as we seek further funding.

You can find the survey here as well as links to more guidance and information.

Please complete the questionnaire by the end of the day on Sunday 15th September.

We are undefeatable

We Are Undefeatable is a new campaign that recognises the unique barriers that those living with health conditions face and it is the first time a campaign has shown the emotional stories of men and women living with a variety of conditions getting active in ways that work for them.

Led by a collaboration of 15 leading health and social care charities, the campaign is backed with expertise, insight and National Lottery funding from Sport England

We would recommend schemes to activate We Are Undefeatable locally by accessing the free campaign collateral through the campaign website. This will help you link to the television and social media adverts that will be running this autumn. We would also welcome hearing more about how you have used the campaign to bring more people in so do please share with us your stories.

Like us

You will see more content being shared over on our social media channels. Please make sure you and the people in your scheme have liked our Facebook page and are following us on Twitter to stay up to date and see what else is going on across the country.

Share your story

If you have any feel good stories, any examples of things working really well, any achievements or accomplishments in your scheme, please let us know. Send any news to walkingforhealth@ramblers.org.uk and we look forward to hearing from you and speaking to you soon!

Best wishes
