The Festival of Winter Walks is almost here!
The Ramblers Festival of Winter Walks is swiftly approaching, and our walkers in North Somerset have been busy preparing for their series of festive walks.
David Page, Active Lifestyle Coordinator at North Somerset Council, explains why they’re getting involved and why the festival is a great opportunity to enjoy some time outdoors this winter.
“We’re running walks every day from the 3rd – 6th January, and one on Monday 8th January, around North Somerset. They each start from a different point and end with a social gathering and a chance to enjoy some festive refreshments.
“Our fantastic Walking leaders have planned each walk, and ensured that the walks cater for all ages and abilities so that everyone has the opportunity to enjoy them.
“We wanted to take part in the Ramblers Festival of Winter Walks because we want to reach out to people who are new to walking, or who are interested in returning to walking and would like to start walking on a regular basis. It’s a fantastic opportunity to become involved in walking and meet members of the community.
“With walking routes planned and venues secured for refreshments after, we’re all set to welcome people on our walks. All you need to do is come along and wear suitable footwear – you’ll be assured a warm welcome!”
