Making headlines: Peter Sissons launches new wellbeing walk in Otford
Former BBC newsreader Peter Sissons helped celebrate the launch of Every Step Counts, a brand new wellbeing walk in Otford, Sevenoaks.
Britain’s longest serving newsreader joined 25 fellow residents and Sevenoaks District Chairman Cllr Larry Abraham to launch the walk on Wednesday 27 October, joining walkers on the inaugural route.
Every Step Counts is a gentle wellbeing walk, especially designed for people who aren't currently very active. It’s designed to give those who may never have walked before the chance to give it a go, with support and encouragement every step of the way.
Peter Sissons said: “The important thing for all of us is just to keep moving. Staying active is the secret to staying healthy.
"Every Step Counts provides the perfect opportunity for all of us to get outside and get moving. I really enjoyed it and if I can do it with two arthritic feet then anyone can!”
The Every Step Counts walk will take place at 10am every Wednesday from Otford Recreation ground, and anyone is welcome.
