Walking and heart disease

"Having a heart attack was devastating in one way but the outcome in discovering walking and all it has to offer had a positive side to it."

If you have heart problems, you've been diagnosed with heart disease or you're recovering from a heart attack, walking is a gentle way to start getting active.

It's also great at reducing the risk of developing heart disease, so if you've been told you need to look after your heart, walking can help you make a change for the better.

Build up gradually

Of course it's vital that you check with your doctor before you start walking. But once you have the go ahead, you can go at your own pace and in your own time, and build up gradually as your health improves.
