Lyndhurst - Reptile Centre
Goto Scheme New Forest Healthy Walks
From the car park, cross the grass past the toilets and picnic tables to reach the main gravel track. Walk about 50 metres to the red marker post. Turn left along a grassy path, initially across open ground and then pine woodland of the Holidays Hill Inclosure. The path dips down to a muddy section and then up again to join the main gravel track. Turn left and go down and through the gate. The track goes round to the right and gently uphill through beech woods. When it opens out to the left, there is a big log for everyone to sit on and take a rest.
About 50 meters further on, there is a wide grassy path to the right, leading to a gate. This path can be muddy after rain but is fairly level and goes through the woods. Eventually it emerges onto the gravel track. Turn right and goe downhill initially and then gently up again to meet the gravel cross track. Go across to jhoin the grassy path opposite. This goes across open ground to start off with and then through pine woods again to join the main gravel track. Turn right and follow this back to the car park.
There is then the opportunity to see the reptiles in the pens.
