Dementia Friendly Walk
Goto Scheme Derbyshire Dales
We are teaming up with the Peak District National Park Rangers and the Alzheimer's Society (Derbyshire Dementia Support Service) to offer Dementia Friendly short walks around the Derbyshire Dales. We have four walks -
- Around Castleton in the Hope Valley
- The lovely Whitworth Park in Darley Dale
- Along the Monsal Trail from Hassop Station on the edge of Bakewell
- In the Park in Ashbourne
These friendly easy walks link into the Activity Groups and Carer Support Groups that the Alzheimer's Society currently organise.
These walks will enable those living with dementia and carers supporting loved ones to enjoy gentle exercise, good company and the great outdoors. We guarantee a warm welcome and a programme of walks designed specifically for you at your pace (30 - 60 mins)
If you need someone to support you, please don't come on your own as unfortunately we can't offer any additional support.
First Tuesday of the month at 2pm start from the Visitors Centre in Castleton
Second Tuesday of the month at 2pm start from the Whitworth Centre
Third Tuesday of the month at 2pm start at Hassop Station near Bakewell
Fourth Tuesday of the month at 2pm meet outside the Co-op in Shawcross Car Park in Ashbourne
Please see our scheme page/programme or contact Helen with any questions.
