Selby Health Walks is now an accredited scheme offering a range of walks from shorter starter walks to longer walks (up to six miles) for the more serious walker. The scheme offers a programme of walks with approximately twenty four led health walks taking place per quarter from various locations with in the Selby District Area.

Our walks

The Scheme has been running since 2002 with led walks being held during the week, some evenings in the summer and Sundays. The walks take place from Abbey Leisure Centre, Brayton, Thorpe Willoughby, Hambleton, Barlow Common, Drax, Escrick, Tadcaster, Saxton and other lacal areas Family walks for parents and children/young people have now been introduced in Selby Town. Many of the walks are between 2 and 3 miles, however some are longer for those wishing to walk further distances. People of all ages are welcome. Partner agencies are Selby District Council, Age Concern, Selby, Selby District AVS and Selby Leisure Services. We are looking to research more routes and to recruit volunteer walk leaders to expand the programme of led walks. Also independent walk routes will be researched.
