Leeds Health Walks

The Group walks on Mondays and Thursdays please see the walk schedule for the starting information.

All walks will be easy-going & approx 3.5 to 4 miles in length (Unless Stated). Some may include off-road walking & involve the use of stiles. Please wear suitable footwear & bring waterproof  protection (raincoat or Umbrella). Walks are free & no need to book just turn up

THURSDAY 10th May :
SPOFFORTH CASTLE TO SICKLINGHALL CIRCULAR
Leader: John Martin : Assistant Leader : Sue Martin
Depart at 10.30 from : Spofforth Castle in the Village (do not turn
right on the A66, but continue straight on the B road – Castle 500 yds
on left )

MONDAY 14th May : NOTE Departs 10.00am
AWAY DAY BY COACH TO RICHMOND TICKET ONLY
Note earlier starting time

Depart at 10:00am from: Garforth Town FC, Cedar Ridge, Garforth
LS25 2PF –
Food Cafe , Wetherspoon’s or bring packup for lunch &
tea. Two walks morning and afternoon returning to Leeds late afternoon
Directions from Garforth pass Tesco on the Aberford Rd ( A642) turn
right after roundabout into Cedar Ridge their access road.
Some tickets ( £ 10 ) might be still available ring Henry or John

THURSDAY 17th May :
EAST ARDSLEY RESERVOIR

Depart at 10:30am from : Reservoir Public Car Park, turn off
Bradford Rd ( A650 ) at large Country Baskets Warehouse - formerly
Amblers Mill - into Westerton Rd continue down road at the Post
Office turn left into Haigh Moor Road Car Park is ¼ mile on left

MONDAY 21st May : Note 4 Miles
BARDSEY TO BLACK MOOR LANE & GATTON LANE

Depart at 10:30am from : Bingley Arms Car Park, Church Lane,
Bardsey. LS17 9DR

THURSDAY 24th May :
TEMPLE NEWSAM HISTORIC SITE
Leader: Pauline Ryan : Assistant Leader : Laraine McNichol
Depart at 10:30am : Home Farm Free Car park LS15 0AE Take the
Colton Entrance to Temple Newsam Park, pass the two brick lodge
houses and then fork left to Farm Car Park

MONDAY 28th May :
THORNER & SCARCROFT VIA HETCHELL CRAGS

Depart at 10:30am from : Mexborough pub Thorner, Main Street,
Thorner. LS14 3DX.

THURSDAY 31ST May :
CROSS FLATS PARK

Depart at 10:30am from : Car Park A - John Charles Centre for Sport
( Turn off Dewsbury Road at Kwikfit and follow road up to top car parks
Park A is on the right. LS11 5DJ
