Torbay: Bay Walks
Bay Walks is a programme of regular led walks in Torquay, Paignton and Brixham. If you are looking to improve your health, or would like to meet new people, then Bay Walks could be for you!
Bay Walks is co-ordinated by the Healthy Lifestyles Team, part of Torbay and Southern Devon Health and Care NHS Trust.
There are many different locations for our walks in Torquay, Paignton and Brixham and they all range in distance and difficulty.
These walks are affiliated to the Walking for Health scheme and are recommended for beginners, those recovering from illness or surgery, or for those with mobility limitations. We have walks to suit all levels from short walks which last no more than 30 minutes up to longer walks of 90 minutes. The terrain on most of our walks is flat and on pavements, but our timetable indicates any steps, slopes or stiles which you may find on a small number of our walks.
It's fun and sociable to walk with others, and in the process you will discover interesting and beautiful parts of the Bay, enjoy the view... and feel healthier!
Walk your way to better health and discover the stunning landscape Torbay has to offer.
All walks are led by volunteers, are free and are open to everyone.
Our progression walks are aimed at those who have improved their fitness beyond the scope of the health walks or require something more challenging.
These walks are for those who can manage rugged, undulating terrain, steep slopes, steps and stiles. A great opportunity for anyone looking to progress their walking to the next level, and to improve their health and wellbeing at the same time.
To find the walk that suits you, download a copy of our timetables from the green box on the right or contact the Healthy Lifestyles Team on 0300 456 1006 (local rate number). We aim to keep the timetables up to date but the walks can be subject to last minute changes so we recommend that you contact the walk leader before your first walk.
