Wednesday Evening walks in Basingstoke
I wish all the Wednesday evening walks weren't "Fast pace!" (They weren't last year)
There is no pleasure to charging along, I don't want to be out of breath!
Health walks also refer to mental health--enjoying the scenery chatting to fellow walkers--it is impossible to enjoy either when charging along as though it is a race.
It is also off putting to new people. The idea of Health Walks is to encourage people who don't take much exercise to get out and stretch their legs--- a "Fast pace" walk defeats the object!
Normal walking pace please!

Oakley walks
On the last Sunday of the month in the village of Oakley near Basingstoke in north Hampshire there is a one hour Health walk at normal walking pace.
This is part of the Basingstoke Walk for Health scheme but is not mentioned in the above list!
The walks start from different spots around Oakley, this should be on the website, in the Oakley village magazine "Link" or on notice boards around the village. It is also usually mentioned in the Basingstoke Gazette.
New walkers welcome.
