Blackpool - Y:Active Walks

Region: North West
Last updated: 18, May 2012

The Y:Active programme is funded by the NHS to provide physical activity for people in the Blackpool area. It has been set up to help to increase the amount of Physical Activity people do and to improve people's health and wellbeing. The walking programme is just one element of the scheme and it is available to anyone, not just Blackpool Residents.

The walks range from 30 - 60 minutes and take place all around the Blackpool area. They are fun, free and enjoyable and there is good group interaction therefore making it a great way to meet new people and make new friends.

All the walks are lead by fully trained Walk Leaders. Any walkers who attend the Y:Active Walks on a regular basis, will be offered the chance to do the training and become a Volunteer Walk Leader too.
