Middlesbrough area - Walking for Health
Walking for Health in Middlesbrough is funded by Middlesbrough Environment City and is part of the national Walking for Health programme (WfH).
- Our health walks vary from 30 - 90 minutes depending on the group.
- All of our walks are led by community volunteer walk leaders.

BROOKFIELD & KADER
Register every Wednesday 9.30 - 9.45am at St Clare’s Church, 102 Low Lane, Middlesbrough, TS5 8EB
2 to 3 miles local strolls every other Wednesday (approx 1 - 1.5 hrs) around Brookfield, Kader, Acklam, Hemlington and Stainton.
On alternate Wednesdays, longer progression walks are offered (download document under map on right for details). Please note: These are not part of the Walking for Health scheme.
COULBY NEWHAM (LANGDON SQUARE)
Walks start at 10.30am every Thursday from Langdon Square Community Centre, Langdon Square, Coulby Newham, TS8 0TF
A mixture of mainly flat circular walks around Coulby Newham, Lingfield, Hemlington Lake and Fairy Dell.
Each walk lasts approximately 1 hour.
Refreshments are available afterwards for a small charge.
COULBY NEWHAM (RAINBOW LEISURE CENTRE)
Walks start at 10.30am every Tuesday from near entrance to Rainbow Leisure Centre, Parkway Centre, Coulby Newham, TS8 0TJ.
A mixture of mainly flat circular walks around Coulby Newham, Lingfield and Fairy Dell.
Each walk lasts approximately 1 hour.
Refreshments are available afterwards at local cafe
Walks start at 10.30am every Monday and Wednesday from Hemlington Recreation Centre, Cass House Road, Hemlington, TS8 9QW.
A mixture of mainly flat circular walks around Hemlington, Hemlington Lake, Stainton, Brookfield and Coulby Newham.
Walks lasts approximately 1 hour.
Refreshments are available after walks for a small charge.
MIDDLESBROUGH TOWN CENTRE
Walks start at 12.15 every Wednesday at the ‘Bottle of Notes’ opposite the MIMA Art Gallery.
Local flat, circular walks to Middlehaven, Riverside Stadium, Transporter Bridge, Gresham, Longlands, North Ormesby and Albert Park.
Walks last approximately 45mins.
Walks start at 10.00am every Tuesday from the seat near the traffic lights opposite North Ormesby Market Place.
A mixture of mainly flat, circular walks around North Ormesby, Riverside Stadium, Middlehaven, Transporter Bridge, Albert Park and Pallister Park.
Each walk lasts approximately 1 - 1.5 hrs.

Local walks or minibus or public transport to walk venues in and around Middlesbrough & Cleveland.

Register at Acklam Library, Acklam Road at 1.30pm every Thursday.
Local, mainly flat walks around Acklam including Acklam Hall, Devil's Bridge, the Avenue of Trees and Mandale.
Most walks last approx 1hr - 1hr 30mins.
Refreshments are available afterwards at Acklam Library for a small donation.

SHORT 30-MINUTE WALKS / STROLLS
Local short, easy walks/strolls in and around Middlesbrough. Some are in Albert Park, Stewart Park, etc.
The walks last approximately 30 minutes.
