Linskill Healthy Walks (North Tyneside)

Linskill Healthy Walks will provide planned, organised Health Walks for the purpose of involving the local community in taking part in healthy exercise to improve their health and fitness levels.
These Health Walks are free to all participants, and we have qualified Walk Leaders who are experienced in leading health walks, who are dedicated towards improving the health and wellbeing of their local community.
Our walks

Wallsend Nature Strolls - Meet in Wallsend People's Centre, Frank Street, Wallsend @ 1pm every MONDAY Short 'Health Walks' of 30-40 minutes around Wallsend - Parks, Waggonways and Denes. Walks will be to suit whoever takes part on the day. Suitable for all ages - wheelchairs, pushchairs and buggys catered for. Walk Leader assigned to anyone with disability/disadvantage. Thursdays Health Walks: - Meet in the Linskill Centre, North Shields @t 10am every THURSDAY - EXCEPT the LAST THURSDAY of the month when we meet at a pre-arranged metro station at 10.30am. Details on our leaflets - call for information.
Medium walks of around 3 - 5 miles, usually 60-90 minutes walking - depending on the pace. We do encourage walkers to walk at a pace that will 'test' them - but recognise that everyone has their own optimum pace. We always have a coffee break and a chat at the end, the social aspect is just as important in promoting good health.
Saturdays:
Saturday Health Walks: The 3rd Saturday of the month. Meet at a pre-determined place, either a Metro Station or Main Bus Station. Times and details on leaflets and below.
Longer walks, not quite rambles, 6-8 miles mostly, for those who are getting fitter and need to step out a bit. We will help anyone to take part in these walks and the pace and distance can be adjusted to suit individuals. If you have a disability or are unsure about how far you can walk, do give us a call and we can try to help you take part.If a walk is unsuitable for you we can suggest alternatives.
Walks are varied and a new programme is included on our walking program (available to download from the righthand col). You will need proper shoes, waterproof coat and a packed lunch. Call Andy for details and meeting times. 07985 155 734 - check for a leaflet below.

re. Our walks programme
Hi Andy,
Apologies - we had to manually transfer all the WalkFinder entries to this new site, so I was expecting some things will have got lost along the way.
I've now made you an editor of this page, so you can upload the walk programme yourself.

We don't see our walks programme for Nov-Dec. Has it got lost? Can we send another copy?
if so, how?
