Greenwich Get Walking!

About us

Greenwich Get Walking is a programme offereing weekly and monthly led walks starting from various points around the Royal Borough of Greenwich encompassing local green spaces including the Green Chain, the Thames Path and areas of Greenwich's rich heritage.

Commissioned by the Royal Borough of Greenwich and delivered by Charlton Athletic Community Trust as part of the Greenwich Get Active Programme.

Also a  range of walking route maps for those that want to walk independently or take friends for a walk, and a range of cycle maps that can be used as extended walking routes.

Here are a few of our walks:

Weekly Health Walks


Eltham Park Walk 9.45am -10.45am

Meet at Eltham Park South Cafe, Glenesk Road, Eltham, SE9 1AG

A walk around Eltham Park South and North woodland.

Remark! Walk 11.00am - 12.00pm (Fortnightly)

Meet at Progress Community Hall, Admiral Seymour Rd, SE9 1SL.
Community walk especially suitable for people with hearing impairments, British Sign Language Interpreters on each walk.



Greenwich Health Walk 9.45am - 10.45am

Meet at King Williams Statue, St Mary's Gate, Park Row, Greenwich, SE10 9LS

Woolwich Riverside Health Walk 10.15am - 11.15am

Meet outside the British Heart Foundation Shop, Powis Street, SE18 (Market end)

Gallions Reach Community Walk 2.00pm - 3.00pm

Meet outside Gallions Reach Health Centre, Bentham Road, Thamesmead, SE28 8BE.



Mottingham Circular Walk - 10.00am - 11.00am (Weekly)

Mottingham Short Walk 10.00am - 10.30 am (First Wednesday of every month)                

Meet outside Mottingham Station (Platform 1), Station Approach, Court Road, Mottingham, SE9 4EW. Busses: 124, 126, 161 


Slade Health Walk 9.30am - 10.30am

Meet outside the Slade Library and Children’s Centre, Erindale, SE18 2QQ.



Sherington Childrens Centre Buggy Walk 9.00 - 10.15am

Sherington Children's Centre, Sherington Rd, Charlton SE7 7JW

 Abbeywood Children's Centre Family Walk - 1.30pm for families and carers with children under 5 years old.

Greenwich Get Walking! is currently undergoing redevelopment. We are auditing existing walks and developing new walks. If you have any thoughts or ideas about walking in the Royal Borough of Greenwich, please contact us!

Volunteer Walk Leaders Required!

Are you interested in walking? Being social? Are you good with people?

We can offer free training and support to enable you to lead health walks and join our health walk programme.


We need people who can spare an hour or two at the weekend and in the evenings.

Not working?

We can help you develop valuable transferable skills and a volunteer work record to help you back into employment.
