Greenwich Get Walking!

About us

Weekly and monthly led walks starting from various points around the Royal Borough of Greenwich encompassing local green spaces including the Green Chain, the Thames Path and areas of Greenwich's rich heritage. A range of walking route maps for those that want to walk independently or take friends for a walk, and a range of cycle maps that can be used as extended walking routes.

Weekly Health Walks

Mondays

Active For Health Eltham Park 9.45am – 10.45am

Meet at CafĂ©, Eltham South Park, Glenesk Road, Eltham SE9 for a walk around the local park and woodlands.

 

Tuesdays

Active For Health Greenwich 9.45am - 10.45am

Meet at St Mary’s Gate, King William Walk, Greenwich Park, SE10 for a walk around Greenwich Park.

Active For Health Woolwich 10.15am - 11.15am

Meet outside Natwest Bank, Woolwich Market end of Powis Street, Woolwich, SE18 6LE for a walk along the Thames.

Rangers Ramble - 10.00am - 11.30am

Meet on the back lawn of Charlton House, Charlton Road, Charlton, SE7 8RE

90 minutes over mixed terrain

 

Wednesdays

Active For Health Avery Hill 9.30am - 10.30am

Meet outside Anstidge Hall, Anstridge Road, New Eltham, SE9 2LL for a walk around Avery Hill Park and Eltham Park.                

Mottingham Circular Walk - 10.00am - 11.00am (starting 4th February 2014)

Meet outside Mottingham Station (Platform 1), Station Approach, Court Road, Mottingham, SE9 4EW. Meet by the TV screen in General Gordon Square, Woolwich, SE18

Tuesday 8th April 2014, 2.00pm – Bostall Heath

Meet at the corner of Bostall Hill and Longleigh Lane, Abbeywood, SE2

Greenwich Get Walking! is currently undergoing redevelopment. We are auditing existing walks and developing new walks. If you have any thoughts or ideas about walking in the Royal Borough of Greenwich, please contact us!

Volunteer Walk Leaders Required!

Are you interested in walking? Being social? Are you good with people? We can offer free training and support to enable you to lead health walks and join our health walk programme. Working? We need people who can spare an hour or two at the weekend and in the evenings. Not working? We can help you develop valuable transferable skills and a volunteer work record to help you back into employment. Please contact our Healthy Walks Coordinator for more information.
