Bromley: Walk for Life

Our Weekly Health Walks are situated at various locations across the borough and usually start from central points such as community centres, clinics or GP surgeries.
Our aim is to get people walking in their own environments whilst getting all the benefits from the workout. Walking does not only have physical benefits such as managing your weight and protecting you against other conditions because it is fun and suitable for everyone and a chance to meet new people.

Dear Volunteer walk leader
Re: Change of coordinator for the walking programme
I would like to take the opportunity to introduce myself to you. My name is Tanya Mead and I work for the Health Improvement Service, part of the NHS. Bromley health improvement service has recently been handed over the walking programme, formerly run by Rob Drinkwater from Bromley Mytime. This simply means that from immediate effect I will be coordinating the Bromley “health walks” programme and as a result, will be your main point of contact for any queries and for sending across all paperwork including the registers and health forms.
It would give me great pleasure to meet with you all personally and thank you for your ongoing support to the programme. Without your continued commitment the programme would cease to survive on this scale.
I am proposing to hold a meeting to be held on either Thursday 6th January at the Civic Offices, in the centre of Bromley from 11.00 am or Thursday 13th January from 3.00 pm. The meeting will provide a good opportunity to socialise with your counterparts, receive an update on the latest developments from the ‘Walking the Way to Health’ programme as well as taking forward the programme in terms of continual support.
I should be grateful if you can you confirm either via email on Tanya.mead@bromleypct.nhs.uk or telephone me on 0208 662 6684 by Friday 24th December with your preference so that I can confirm the booking of the room. Should you have any further queries please do not hesitate to contact me.
I look forward to hearing from you.
Kind regards
Tanya Mead
Walking coordinator for Bromley
