Leicester Health Walks
UPDATE: In light of the concerns over the Covid19 virus, all walks are suspended until at least the end of May, subject to new developments. Thank you for your understanding and support
Health Walks usually occur:
- At 12 noon on Thursdays in LE3 area
- At 12.30pm on Fridays from the Leicester Town Hall
- At 11am on Saturdays from Victoria Park main gates
However, in line with government guidance and the decision made by Rambers Walking for Health, these walks are suspended.
Ramblers Walking for Health Coronavirus Update:
Following government advice we want to protect the health of our schemes, partners, walkers, volunteers and all those that take part in Ramblers Walking for Health. We also want to help supress the spread of the COVID-19 virus.
All Ramblers Walking for Health activities including; group walks, social activities and meetings are suspended from 18th March – at least 31st May
Thank you for your understanding and support, this is an unusual time for us all.
Leicester Health Walks scheme is coordinated and run by a team of friendly and dedicated volunteers, to encourage adults to walk and become more active, to improve their feeling of health and wellbeing. Our regular walks take place on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays and you are welcome to join us! If you are new to walking with us, please arrive in good time to allow for registration (first walk only).
- LE3 Health Walks start at 12 noon each Thursday (30-60 minutes, steady pace) - start location varies between the BRITE Centre, Braunstone Avenue, LE3 1LE / Evesham Road / Braunstone Leisure Centre. See walk calendar for location details on each date
- Friday Lunchtime Strolls start at 12.30pm - from Leicester Town Hall, city centre.
- Saturday Strolls* on Victoria Park at 11am - from the main park gates on London Road (near Granville Road)

Walks will go ahead whatever the weather. Dogs are welcome if well behaved and kept on a short lead. Children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult. If you are looking for a wheelchair accessible walk, please contact us first to check the route is appropriate.

These steady walks take place weekly.The length varies from 30 minutes to 90 minutes. See the walk calendar for details of which ones take place when. 'Short' walks are 30-45 minutes, 'medium' walks are 60 minutes, long walks are up to 90 minutes. Toilets are available in the BRITE Centre. and start from the Town Hall in Leicester city centre, which is easily accessible by public transport. Please see walks calendar for details of where the starting location is each Thursday.
Saturday Strolls on Victoria Park
11am on Saturdays from the main park gates on London Road (near Granville Road)
Starting from 17th November 2018, these steady walks take place weekly.The length varies from 30 minutes to 45 minutes.

Everyone is welcome to attend our walks, no matter your age or level of fitness. If you are looking for a wheelchair accessible walk, please contact us in advance to check if the route is appropriate.
Please note that our walks focus on health and wellbeing and are not designed to be historical or cultural tours of Leicester. Where we pass places of interest in the city our walk leaders may choose to refer to thse briefly for interest, but this is not a specialist history/culture guide service.
