Best Foot Forward offers a number of short walks in the Nottingham City area. These free guided health walks offer you the opportunity to improve your health, make new friends, have fun and get to know your local environment. Everyone welcome!


Our walks

Bestwood walk - 1-3 miles. A walk offering a variety of routes around the Bestwood area. Meet at the Southglade Access Centre every Monday at 1.15pm Walk leaders Trevor & Helen.

Sherwood Walk - 1.5-2 miles. A reasonably flat walk from Edwards lane estate leading to Arnot Park. Meet at Edwards lane Community Centre every Monday at 1.30pm. Walk leader Jackie & David

Mary Potter Walk - 1.5-3miles. A varied walk around "The Forest" leading to the beautiful Arboretum. Meet every Monday & Thursday inside Mary Potter Health Centre (North entrance) at 10.30. Walk leaders Colin, Sue.

Nuthall Railway Walk - 3 miles. A walk along part of the Great Northern Line, stopping halfway for coffee at The Three Ponds. Meet at Snapewood Community Centre every Tuesday at 10.30am. Walk leader Trevor & Sheila

Lenton & Canal Walk - 1.5-3 miles. A lovely circular walk that takes in the Nottingham Canal. Meet at the Pavillion Lenton Recreation Ground every Tuesday afternoon at 2pm. Walk leaders David & Colin

Clifton Walk - 1.5-2 miles. This walk goes into the heart of Clifton Village. Meet at the entrance to Cliton Cornerstone every Wednesday at 10.30am. Walk leader Caroline

Strelley Woodland & Countryside walk - 4 miles - A circular walk through open fields with panoramic views of the area. Meet 1st Wednesday of every month 10am at Broad Ock public house, Strelley Village. Walk leaders Sue & Kevin. *Please note this walk is not suitable for buggies & wheelchairs. Please also note this is not weekly!

Sneinton & St Anns Walk - 1-2 miles. A walk along the boundaries, passing through St Mary's Rest Gardens & King Edward Park, can extend to Greens Windmills & City farm Meet at the Victoria Leisure Centre every Wednesday 10.30am. Walk leader Colin.

Meadows Ladies Only Walk - 1.5-2 miles. This ia a pleasant flat circular walk around the playing fields near the Embankment. Meet at Meadows library every Wednesday 10am. Walk leaders Khadeia. Times may change in school holidays

Wollaton Park Walk - 1.5-3 miles. A number of pleasant walking routes on offer. Meet at Wollaton Park 1st Car Park every Friday at 10am. Walk leaders Sue, Judy. Robin.

Old Basford - 2 miles. A flat walk with benches at intervals. Meet at the Garage on Mill Street every Friday at 10.30am. Walk leader Christine.

Victoria Embankment Walk - 2 miles. Steady flat walk along the beautiful tree lines embankment. Meet at the gate entrance of the famous Trent Bridge every friday at 10.30am. Walk leader Colin.

History talk on Old Basford on special dates throughout the year. Call for more details.
