Welcome to Heart and Sole, Chelmsford's healthy walking scheme. We hope that you join our programme of walks and find them enjoyable and beneficial to your health.
Heart and Sole is an accredited scheme run in partnership between Chelmsford City Council and Central Essex Community Services.
The scheme is ideal for anyone wanting to;
Walks are led by trained leaders and have a back marker at the rear of the group. This means you are free to walk at your own pace without fear of being left behind. The routes are all circular, so you start and finish in the same place. After the walk, we welcome you to stay for refreshments and socialising. This may be in a café, sports pavilion or a public house.
Government guidelines for a healthy lifestyle encourage us to take at least 30 minutes of moderate exercise a day, five days a week. This makes a brisk walk in the open air with other like-minded people a great way of fulfilling your quota.
The dates on which our walks take place are updated on a quarterly basis; this information, along with the locations of the meeting points for all of the walks can be found on our website.
