1 scheme, 1,000 members

On a Saturday morning in mid-March, seven new members joined Kidderminster Stride & Stroll, bringing the total number of registered walkers to over 1,000!
Although this enterprising WfH scheme is one of the largest in the Midlands - with an average weekly attendance of 90-100 participants – this was, nevertheless, an important milestone.
This is brilliant news and reinforces what we’re seeing in other areas – the Spring is the best time of year for increasing walker numbers.

Kidderminster Stride & Stroll was started in the summer of 2002 by Sally Mansfield, Specialist Nurse in Heart Disease, as an extension of Cardiac Rehabilitation at Kidderminster Hospital. Now it offers five walks every Saturday morning with a choice of 30 different venues, and on Thursdays short walks are organised specifically for those on the road to recovery.
Congratulations to all walk leaders with Kidderminster Stride & Stroll for continuing to offer great walks that can accommodate this many people. I know you all work hard to make sure the walk programme works out.’

Walk leaders are wondering if they have set a record.
I would be interested to know of any other WfH schemes that have reached 1,000 members.

Bromsgrove & Redditch Walks for Health groups
Congratulations this is a magnificent milestone to reach. As with all walking groups the commitment and dedication of the walk leaders is central to providing the opportunities for walkers of all levels to be able to take part in pleasurable and stimulating walks. Well done and keep up the good work.
Liverpool's Walk for Health
Liverpool's Walk for Health scheme currently have 1,777 registered walkers, so could be on course to be the first scheme to reach 2,000 walkers!
