Training for cascade trainers

Cascade training has been suspended since October 2011. The new hosts of the Walking for Health national centre, the Ramblers, aim to reintroduce it as soon as possible after April 2012. Please check back later, and thank you for your patience during the handover period.

Training for cascade trainers is a 1-day course provided to volunteers or professionals who wish to train volunteer walk leaders locally, either for their own scheme or other local schemes. 

Please note - you must have completed the Volunteer Walk Leader training before you can do this course.

This certified course offers:

• A safe environment for you to practice delivering volunteer walk leader training.
• Opportunities for constructive feedback and a full on-going support system.
• A variety of different training methods enabling you to tailor your delivery to different audiences.
• All training materials (including additional interactive resources) provided free.
• Access to documents, forums and other resources within the restricted Training section of our website.
• A continuing professional development programme to enable you to keep your knowledge and skills updated and deliver your volunteer walk leader training.

All materials used in the training are either provided free to cascade trainers or can be downloaded via the Training section.

How to register to become a cascade trainer

If you are interested in becoming a cascade trainer we request that you first make contact with us. Please note that currently no further cascade trainer courses are confirmed, but it is hoped to reintroduce these some time after April 2012. Thank you for your patience during the handover period.

You will need to complete a cascade training application form and return it to us by email or by post.
