Join us for our own version of the famous national challenge and experience the beautiful scenery along part of the Ridgeway National Trail, taking in Whiteleaf Cross, Coombe Hill and Ivinghoe Beacon.

This is a charity fund raising event for the restoration of the canal, so there is a £5 registration fee. The route follows foot, cycle and tow paths from Chippenham Town Buttercross to The Bell pub at Lacock NT village, a delightful level walk of about 5 miles. Volunteers will be on hand to give information and offer refreshments, and walkers can either walk back to Chippenham or take a volunteer driven minibus.

Walk for Health and support The Hunger Project in 2015 by taking on the Isle of Wight Challenge. Kicking off the Isle of Wight Walking Festival 2015, the Isle of Wight Challenge (106, 56 or 32km) follows the stunning coastal path for over 100 km around England’s largest island. Most will walk it at their own pace, some will jog parts of it, and others will run the full 106 km ultra marathon style! Team Activ have won a ‘Walk Barnsley’ contract as part of the South Yorkshire Local Sustainable Travel Fund. Funding for the two-year-contract will target businesses and households along the A635 corridor between Town Centre and Hickleton to get more people engaged in walking.
